Women's League

February, 2010 Ma'aseem

1/27/2010
As we go to press, we are anxiously planning Women's League Shabbat. We extend our appreciation in advance to Abbey Sasson and Carin Style for co-chairing the event and to everyone who participated in the service. Thanks to Boni Silverman and Myra Goldman, along with their committee, for their hard work planning and preparing the Shabbat dinner and Kiddush luncheon. We are delighted to welcome Rabbi Robyn Frisch as our guest speaker. Robyn will present this year's Mary Weiss Award to Jill Kornfeld. We extend a hearty mazel tov to Jill on her many contributions to TBI!

Women's League is again distributing Mishloach Manot baskets to our TBI friends and family. We really appreciate your support of this important fundraiser. Forms have been mailed to all congregants and extras are available on the Shabbat table. The deadline for placing an order is February 8. We will be packing the baskets on February 16 and distributing them to preschool families on Friday, February 26 at dismissal and to the congregation on Saturday evening, February 27 at the Purim Carnival. If you would like to help with basket preparation and distribution, contact either Lynn Alexander, 215-654-0323, lynniealex@aol.com, or Jennifer Karpf, 215-362-7036, gsjennifer@comcast.net.

On Sunday, February 21, we will be baking hamantaschen. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun! Please meet us in the main kitchen at 10:15 a.m.

Mark your calendars now for the following events: On March 16, our Rosh Hodesh group will tour the mikveh at Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El of Wynnewood. All are welcome to participate in what is sure to be an enlightening evening. Look for more information in the March Ma'aseem and "What's Nu?" In the meantime, if you have any questions, feel free to contact our Rosh Hodesh coordinator Debby Peikes Cohen at 215-699-8986, drpeikes@gmail.com. If you need transportation or are interested in carpooling, please let Debby know.

On March 21, Women's League and Men's Club will co-sponsor a joint brunch. Look for more information in next month's Ma'aseem and "What's Nu?"

Save the date! Our annual Ladies' Night Out is scheduled for May 5. If you are interested in volunteering, contact our co-chairs Margie Schultz , 610-272-3382, popcorn40@aol.com, or Sue Feller, 215-368-4514, feller2d@verizon.net.

Please continue to support our ongoing fundraising activities. Women's League has placed a box in the Chapel lobby where you can put your used inkjet, laser, and toner cartridges, cell phones, and I-Pods. For each item sent, Women's League earns much needed cash and helps to protect our environment.

Enroll now in our Genuardi E-Scrip fundraiser. TBI Women's League receives a contribution for every dollar you spend. For more information on both of these programs, contact Sue Feller.

Leagrams are a great way to send greetings to your TBI friends and family who are celebrating a B'nai Mitzvah, birthday, wedding, anniversary, or any other special occasion. For $3.00 each, we will send a personalized greeting. Contact Sandy Green at 610-222-0870, greens6@verizon.net for more information.

Our Judaica Gallery will re-open on Sundays starting on Sunday, February 21. The shop is also open on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30 when religious school is in session and on Fridays from 11:30 -- 12:30. Stop by for all your Purim needs and be sure to check out our half-price clearance table. If you are planning a B'nai Mitzvah or wedding, consider utilizing our gift registry. It's a great way to ensure you receive the "perfect" gift! Contact Linda Brenner at 610-279-1324, gsbrenner@erols.com if you have any questions about the Judaica Gallery or to make an appointment.
Wishing you a Happy Purim!
