NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!!
We are looking to cast this piece with actors of mixed ages and gender. We may even have several actors play the same character over the course of the show. You are welcome to audition for any role regardless of how it is traditionally cast and I am open to any and all possiblities.
For the audition please prepare one of the monologues and one of the songs from those provided. You can hold the music and text of the monologue if you need to but you are also certainly welcome to memorize either or both. You will be using the same backup track that is posted on the Youtube channel and we will have copies of the sheet music and monologue text provided.
Please email the Rob Heller with any questions or concerns:
SONG #1: Opening- You're a Good Man Charlie Brown (ENSEMBLE)
SONG #2: Beethoven Day (Schroeder)
SONG #3: The Doctor is In (Charlie Brown)
SONG #4 Snoopy (Snoopy)
SONG #5 Schroeder (Lucy)
SONG #6 My New Philosophy (Sally)
There is both a VOCAL track and a KARAOKE track for each of the songs at the following link:
“Good grief!” is the perfect expression for the selfdepreciating Charlie Brown. He’s always down on himself and desperately wants to change, but his own fears get in the way sometimes. Underneath it all though, he is a good guy. He consistently pines for the “little red headed girl” in school with him.
Bossy and a bit of a bully, Lucy is loud, proud, and in your face. She’s stubborn, strong-willed, and always has an opinion. . . .even if she should just keep her mouth shut!
Schroder is the love of Lucy’s life and a piano player. He refuses Lucy’s love, preferring to be a bachelor, much like his idol, Beethoven.
The quiet and shy younger brother of Lucy, he is always in need of his trusty blanket. Despite his quiet exterior, he is the most intelligent member of the group, using vocabulary way out of the intellectual means of his peers.
**either a male or female role**
(Bari-Tenor OR Alto)
Snoopy is a lazy, silly, foodobsessed dog who thinks the world revolves around him and can’t understand why it doesn’t! He has a strong imagination and is very melodramatic.
Sally is the younger sister to Charlie Brown. She is flighty, and tries to slide by on life doing as little work as possible.
(All various vocal ranges)
The chorus will be various characters from the Peanuts comic strip (I.E. Peppermint Patty, Marcy, Pig Pen, etc.) and appear in various big musical numbers such as the “Opening,” “Beethoven Day,” etc. Certain members of the chorus will have featured roles for dancing, such as Woodstock and the “blanket."
